Historical Memoir Interior and Text Design

At the initial design meeting I was told there are three voices telling this story, (a design challenge): the author as narrator, the survivors' interviews, and the author's own journal writing while in the field. Along with that there was poetry, letters and dialogue. I was honored to design this book, and in a small way, pay homage to those men in this terrible war. My intention was to give this text dignity.
